At Cana Christian Fellowship, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that all scripture is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The God of the Bible cannot lie (Numbers 23:19), His Word is divine ( 2 Peter 1:20-21), so we are able to stand on His promise (John 3:16-21). We believe in the God of the Bible, the one who has many names, but is Almighty GOD, Our Father in Heaven, the Alpha and the Omega, and without beginning and end. We believe that the one true God, Almighty God, I Am, expresses himself in three ways.
God the Father reveals that He created us, and therefore we come from Him as all children come from a father. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 2:7) Through the Father, God reveals His fatherly love and mercy, His patience and kindness. (Psalms 103:1-22) He provides for all of our needs, while at the same time He chastens us when we stray. (Philippians 4:19-20, Hebrews 12:5-11) Through the Son, God expresses Himself as our older brother, a high priest and advocate who is on our side. (Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 6:20, Hebrews 8:1-7) He is our Savior, Lord, and King. (1 John 4:14) Through the Holy Spirit, God expresses Himself as our comforter, our teacher and mentor. (John 14:26; John 16:13; Acts 2:38) The Holy Spirit regenerates us and is the way by which God lives in us, empowering us. (John 16:7-15)
We believe in Jesus, God in the flesh: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Jesus was fully man and fully God simultaneously. This is a mystery that requires faith to believe, but it must be confessed and believed in order to be in Christ (John 14:11; 1 John 4:2; 2 John 1:7, Isaiah 9:6).
“In conclusion, the Bible is the only book containing the very words of the God who created all things, showing his creatures His perfect character while also explaining His way of salvation in Jesus Christ. The Bible is the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, clear, and sufficient standard for their faith and life. It carries absolute authority and is unflinchingly reliable. The Bible is the greatest earthly treasure that could possibly be placed in the hands of mankind. It is life-giving wisdom, leading to salvation and maturity. It is the unique source of delight and joy in Christ. Through the Bible, God addresses his saving message to us today. We must read and study it obediently and diligently in communion with its living, divine author and by the help of His Spirit. In this way we shall understand, serve, worship, and glorify Him properly.”
